Securify finish.

Securify have just finished XPD 2008 in 5th place. They walked down the hill (the chairlift available to teams during the day had stopped running at 5pm) and took their champagne and place on the finishers couch to a cheering crowd. Nga Rakau were there too greet them at the finish and congratulations were given all round. They are exhausted but on a high from finishing. They didn’t have long on the couch as Team Caffeinated arrived shortly afterwards but we have all adjourned to the pub next door for a good feed and some beers. Securify recounted how the 2nd half of the race went for them. A mistake in the rogaine cost them an hour early on which dropped them back a bit on Nga Rakau. This meant they were paddling in the dark and in the cold wet conditions they stopped for several hours to build a fire and warm up. So they started on the last bike ride this morning and were on the final trek this evening. The weather has really cleared up now and they had fantastic views from the top of mt Kosciusko.

There should be a number of teams finishing soon, Girls on top should be on their way down the hill now so we’ll do another update when they arrive.
