Two teams have now passed through CP6 (Falls Creek - midway on the 85km trek):
Blackheart / Salomon - in 11:37 out 12:19
blackheart.com.au - in 12:11 out 12:26
blackheart.com.au took a couple of hours sleep at a hut a few kms before the CP. Blackheart / Salomon have had no sleep so far; one team member was keen to push on to the end of the trek, a couple of the others were looking a bit weary and weren't so keen !
The weather at the top of Mt Feathertop was apparently atrocious.
If these teams maintain their current pace, they will arrive at the end of the trek somewhere around midnight tonight. They will then be able to sleep until 6am when the dark zone on the Leg 4 kayak is lifted.
No sign of Stu back from his bike ride yet ...
